A Kickstarter for the spiritual successor to Ecco the Dolphin has been launched.
Featuring most of the original Ecco the Dolphin team, the game, titled The Big Blue, hopes to launch in April 2014 for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac. They also hope to eventually target Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles if possible.
The Big Blue will see players exploring, collecting, completing quests and puzzles, and interacting with a number of sea life.
Built on the ever-popular Unity engine, the game is asking $665,000 to fund a team of ten developers for a year. Reward tears range from $10 to $10,000, with a bevy of perks in-between. $25 will guarentee you a playable demo and development prototypes, while the $10,000 tier will reward you will a sculpted clay model of one of the game’s creatures.
