Do you like Metroid? Do you wish it was a little more like…Doom? Well, head on after the break to learn about the Doom total-conversion, Metroid: Dreadnought.
Originally planned for a 1994 release, the SNES CD-ROM started its life as a partnership project with Sony. However, due to licencing disagreements, Nintendo dropped the partnership and turned to Sony’s rival, Phillips. Alas, unfortunately for Nintendo, the only thing that came of it was Sony’s eventual entrance into the console market.
The Virtual Console, Nintendo’s Online shop for downloadable content, has been around since the launch of the Wii in 2006. Perhaps most notably though, the Virtual Console has been used as a platform to launch older games to a modern audience. I’m just not entirely sure Nintendo is doing it correctly.
